Take the Linden Hills History Walking tour to get a glimpse of the area's past and elegant architecture or bundle up and take the family skating on Lake Harriet this winter.
At 43rd Street and Upton Avenue you'll find several interesting eateries. Cafe 28 is a restaurant developed in what once was the historic Linden Hills fire station. The menu focuses on sustainable agriculture and locally grown products. Wine is served and one of the best beer lists in the city is offered here. Friday evening is the fabulous fish fry.
Famous Dave's BBQ is the best BBQ joint in town. The newest menu item features Smokin' Rib Eye Steaks. Come in and enjoy the rustic lodge atmosphere of the original Famous Dave's. Zumbro Cafe, a neighborhood staple, features unconventional dishes served daily. Breakfast and lunch only. Closed Mondays. Rice Paper is the neighborhood's newest addition and has had many "must try" recommendations by local restaurant critics. It features an Asian-fusion menu offering delicate flavors skillfully crafted.
At 44th Street and France Avenue, stop by France 44 Deli & Market. This deli draws customers from around the city for its signature marinated chive cheese and extensive cheese offerings from around the world. The Friday-night feature is Dinner for Two, with super salad entreé and a bottle of wine. There are also special wine dinners on Wednesday and Thursday, from 5-8 pm. 612.925.3252.
Almsted's Sunnyside Market & Deli dishes up delicious gourmet sandwiches, assorted salads, combination entrees and desserts. It's a home-cooked meal take-out style. Turtle Bread Co., offers a wonderful selection of mouth-watering pastry items, gourmet grocery items, hearty homemade soups, and artisan breads.
Lyndale Park Rose Garden
Showcasing hundreds of rose variations, the Lyndale Park Rose Garden is the second-oldest public rose garden in the United States. Located near the northeast corner of Lake Harriet, this breathtaking park was designed by Theodore Wirth in 1907.

Take a walk around Lake Harriet and enjoy the expansive views of the downtown Minneapolis skyline while gazing at the unique private residences around the lake.
The Lake Harriet-Como Streetcar
Built at the turn of the 19th century, this historic trolley once connected downtown Minneapolis with the lakes. Today the Lake Harriet-Como Streetcar runs between Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun.
